My heart is singing with the words from Psalm 113 that I wrote about earlier this week:

Praise the Lord!… He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children.  Praise the Lord!

Over the years, I’ve composed dozens of these announcements in my head.  Now that I actually have the chance to write the news that I’m pregnant, I have no words.

I’m overjoyed.

  6. ANDREA!!!!!! I’m crying right now, I’m so happy for you! I’ve been praying for you so hard this week, you’ve been coming to my mind at odd moments. I pulled into Wal-Mart the other day (solo for once) and as I walked across the parking lot I asked God if He would please let you keep all three embryos. I told Him that I knew I had prayed before for you to be able to have at least one but that this time I was asking please for all three. He allowed them to be created and He was authoring their story from the moment they became one cell. I asked Him to please allow all three of them to grow and thrive and become healthy babies. And I asked Him please to make my friend a mother at last. And I cried. Which made the Wal-Martians stare at me. But I felt heard and loved and at peace.

    And now you are pregnant.
And I am praising God for answering my prayers with a “yes” and for His mercy and goodness to you after so long in the desert!

    Love you!

I linked to you through our mutual friend Sheila. She had mentioned your story to me about a year or so ago. My hubby and I have two beautiful children by way of IVF. They are a tremendous blessing.
I vividly remember hearing the news of our confirmed pregnancy! So exciting.

  26. Amy

It has been a long time since I corresponded with you. I too finally was given my gift of a long-awaited 2nd child. He is already 5 months old. You may or may not remember me, but I wrote you a long time ago telling you of my LONG nearly 6 year journey through secondary infertility and 2 back to back miscarriages. I just got a new computer, and you were not in my new computer’s list of favorites yet. I thought, I wonder if she is pregnant. I need to look her blog up and bookmark it! I had a feeling it was going to be positive news! I am so overjoyed for you! May God continue to nurture these babies until they are ready to be in your arms. (I’m betting on more than 1 baby:) )

  27. just thought i’d give my congrats to you as well! i used to read your blog a while back and i stumbled across it again. (we also struggle with infertility). and guess what?! we are pregnant too 🙂 just found out! thank you Jesus!

Oh, how my heart sings with joy right now. Precious Father, guard, guide, and protect the abundant life growing and thriving in Andrea’s womb. Amen!

Tonight I am going to, with SO very much joy, take the tiny onesie I bought for you all that time ago…even though we only talked a few times, in passing- during high school no less– I was walking on sixth street here and in the midst of all the kiosks and carts selling beads and bootleg longhorn items, there was a cart with baby items…the handpainted sign read “the petite hipster”.

I saw a onesie with a rubber duck …a duck playing a fender guitar.

I will weep for joy when I take the tiny garment out of its tissue shrine, and ready it to finally, finally send to you.

  29. I felt like this was going to be it! I’m so excited! I’ve been checking everyday for the news. A huge hearty congratulations to you and Aaron!!!

oh Andrea! I can’t even begin to formulate words – tears just stream down my face for you and Aaron. Tears of joy! Way an honor it has been to walk through this with you an Aaron, your faithfulness, your tears, your perseverance, they all just ring out loud now and are such a testimony of how beautiful of a Savior we serve. THIS has given me fresh faith and strength to walk through my own current trial. Love you dear sister, can’t wait to watch you over the next 9 months – my prayers are with you and Aaron and the little one(s) AH! How exciting! =D
